This bike’s frame number is H27904, and is listed in the ledgers as a model Vade Mecum, type 6 (road racing geometry, 22.5 inch, curly, first sold 12 April 1960, to J.T. Rodgers (a reseller in Leeds who took many Hetchins frames), original price: 12 pounds 9 pence. It was the seven thousand nine hundred and fourth frame made since they started counting in August 1935.
