The annual Eroica South Africa event was held in magnificent weather in the beautiful and harsh environment of the Klein Karoo in Montagu – Western Cape.
Friday saw participants registering at the the Eroica hub, housed in the historic KWV building in town. Participants in the classic bike concourse also displayed their bikes for judging later.
That evening participants were treated to a festival dinner with Italian fare, thereafter the concourse winners and awards were announced.
On Saturday the various Eroica distance rides took place in perfect but hot conditions into the wild surrounds of the Montagu area. This was the largest field of participants so far at any Eroica SA event.
A social ride took place on Sunday from the church. a local unofficial ‘mayor’ entertained us with some history of Montagu at the stop on cannon hill.
All in all, a wonderful experience and well organised. I’m sure many will be back again next year.
